Okay, so I have four tapes with very, very broken time code … as in, dropouts every second or two. FCP (4.5), needless to say, is not very happy.

Is there any way to capture video and audio without capturing the timecode, as there is in Avid, or am I hosed?

(Dubbing to another deck is not an option – I’m in New Zealand and I’ve got the only NTSC deck of anyone I know.)

Capture using the UNCONTROLLED DEVICE option.

You’ll have to control the deck manually.
