    HI all,

I was looking to find out if a sync generator was necessary when capturing from VHS using a Decklink HD Extreme 3D card in a MAC PRO. I am capturing S video out of a SONY SVO 5800 (since I don’t have the optional component board) into FCP 7 at the moment and it does appear that longer captures (6o minutes or so) show some audio drift. Would a sync generator do anything in this situation?

    Thanks for your time
    Chris

    Try Non Controllable Device.

HI Paul, Thanks for responding. Currently I have the capture tool set to Uncontrollable device. That’s actually the only way I can capture since these are ancient VHS tapes that have many breaks in the control track. Let me know if you have any other ideas. Thanks again for chiming in.

    Chris
