Capturing varicam 59.94 at 29.97 via konaLHE
I can’t get my Kona LHE to discard the duplicate frames when trying to capture varicam footage shot at 59.94 for edit at 29.97. Even if I set the FPS setting in the capture window to 29.97 it still loads all 59.94 frames. Can anyone help me? What am I doing wrong? It works when I bring the footage in via firewire but not the Kona SDI.

Updating my own post. I’ve figured out that in the input selector of the capture presets I need to be using the AJA preset that ends with … varicam – in order for the card to see the duplicate frames and load the footage. Problem is that when I log the footage I can see the tape no problem. But when I execute the capture it aborts and doesn’t see any video input. Any advice on this? I have lots of footage and I don’t want to have to use the FRC inside FCP… too much of a pain. THanks in advance for your help.
