My company has just upgraded to FCP5 (after being on FCP3 since it’s original release). We had a MAC PRO Quad Xeon workstation with a LaCie External drive installed.

When trying to capture video (from our Beta Deck) I get a “Searching for Timecode Break” error. I’ve tried multiple tapes, all of which I know have solid timecode and I get the same error.

Once I take the LaCie External Drive out of the picture and capture straight to my Mac’s Hard Drive I have no troubles.

The LaCie Drive is a 1TB drive using Firewire 800. Has anyone come across any issues like this?

Thanks for any thoughts on the matter!
