I am tryin to capture timecode from a Fostex PD4 DAT deck and I am having trouble captuiring timecode. I am transfering into Final Cut through the KONA LE card. The timecode out on the deck is XLR but I have no similar inputs for timecode. How can I make this work?

Do you have a VTR that accepts tc in? You could take the XLR, adapt it to BNC and stick that in the ‘tc in’ of your VTR. Set the deck to ext timecode, hook your RS-422 from the Kona to the deck, and capture now while the deck is record mode (just hit the record button, not the record and play button). It’s a little bit of a hack work around but it might work.
