  Capturing SD to tape from another tape in HDV format via the camera

  Hey guys,

  This is the setup I have, a Sony Capture Device firewire linked to a Canon XH A1. The Sony Device has a tape shot in HDV and I’d like to bring it across to the Canon XH A1 in SD.

  The picture is showing fine and the Canon is recording just fine. However, even when I put on HD Downconvert in the Canon camera, it still captures the footage in HD format.

  How can I make the Canon capture the footage in SD?

  I know that this isn’t exactly the correct forum, but I know a lot of users have this camera or a camera with similar settings for Premiere and may be able to save me the hassle of digitizing, downconverting via an SD sequence and then Exporting to Tape.
