Capturing live footage
I’m trying to capture live footage but having no luck.
FCP is recognising the camera (Canon XM1) and when I open the capture window, I can see a live image from the camera in the capture window.
But when I try to ‘Capture Now’ FCP tries, then immediately stops saying that it can’t find a timecode or a tape.
Any ideas?
I’m running FCP 5 on an iMac capturing through firewire.

Set DECK CONTROL to “uncontrolled device.” This means that FCP will not capture timecode, so it won’t be looking for a tape to control.
