Capturing footage and creating clips
Does anyone have suggestions for the most efficient way to capture DV footage and create clips? I like what IMovie does when it creates clips based on the stops and starts during recording. I know that FCP can do that by creating markers, however the markers don’t seem to match the clips from the original tape very well. What I really would like to do, is to capture my footage all in one shot and then break down the single clip into smaller clips.

Then just capture the one big clip and then subclip.
But I am a HUGE fan of logging and capturing…separating the clips PHYSICALLY by capturing them as separate files. Logging first, then capturing. Subclips have a way of not liking to re-link if you ever need to media manage a project, or recapture. Reputedly fixedin 5.1, but…still, logging and capturing is a good habit to get into.
