Hi! I’ve never filmed in 60i before and don’t know much about sequence settings in general. Would really love your help in figuring this out…

I have footage from a Canon XH A1 that I filmed in HDV 60i.

The footage looks pretty bad when I capture it in Premiere under the HDV capture setting, I haven’t put it on a sequence/timeline yet, I’m just capturing and then playing back the captured video from the source viewer panel (the play back is on ‘full’ not ‘1/2’).

Do I need to change the capture settings somewhere to make it capture it in better quality? It doesn’t look like there are any settings to modify under the HDV capture setting.

I’m also trying to figure out what settings I should use for the timeline? Are there any measures I should take to interlace the video so that when I export it to YouTube it won’t show those interlacing lines?

    Thanks so much!

    A.
