Capturing DVCProHD in SVP12 thru an AJA Kona LHi on Windows 8.1
Hi all! Long time. I need to decrease my editor’s burden in post, so I am on a Roland VR-50HD HDMI video mixer, with an AJA Kona LHi in a Windows 8.1 desktop (forced smile). I want to capture DVCProHD, or some other codec that my editor can use in his Adobe CS6.
I called AJA to configure the AJA card. They wanted me to use their capture program (Control Room). We can see the camera image in the preview window of Control Room, but it will not record (?). We also tried their old program (machina), but the controls are greyed out.
I bought the AJA because they are supposed to support SVP, but the AJA rep said they do not have a copy of Vegas Pro to work with (?), but we tried talking it through. I went into Options > Preferences > Preview Device, and selected “AJA Device.”
Then in File > Capture Video > Prefs > Devices I also selected “AJA Device.” It says, “Device Not Available.”I called Sony, and I get a fancy message that says they are all in a meeting over the lunch hour 🙂 Does anyone know what settings I can use to get video capture in SVP12? Thank you!
