Lets go ahead and assume The Canon XLh1 is a deck and thats just what it was. ( I know its not trust me! ) Cool, we got that out of the way. Ok so I am trying to capture 2 tapes into my final cut with the Canon XLH1. I really don’t know where to begin to get this to work. Capturing is not really the forte of the studio if you will. But sometimes you get some wacky requests and this is what we have to work with. I got it all hooked up but I cannot get anything to work in final cut. No picture and no sound. There are about 70 different settings to use for capturing and 30 attempts later I realized I have the world wide web to answer some questions. I have googled like 20 different things and all I get is Canon XLH1 specs. Along with AJA Specs. I need a little help here. And I realize that this is probably really easy but I just don’t know what to do here. Thanks again. Oh ya, machine specs Mac Pro 2 x 3.2 Ghx Quad Core Intel Xeon, 10 gigs ram. I think thats all ya need. I really hope some can help and save the day lol. thanks again.

I ask because this the aja cards work alone and with virtually all NLE’s.

What is wrong with the aja kona3 easy setup for 1920x 1080 ProRes 422 29.97i or something similar?

Well we got somewhat of a picture with the HD SDI but can’t seem to get the right setting for capturing. They all look super glitchy. But we do have a picture now. The camera says HDV 60i if that helps.

make sure the camera menu is set to pump out HDSDI and not Standard SDI.
