  • Capturing Audio Channel 2 from Sony PDX10

I captured tape video from this camera through the DV connection, but while the transfer of video was successful, the audio on Channel 2 evidently did not. There was no audio on Chanel 1. I can hear the audio on the camera while it was being captured to PP/CS4, but it seems to not be present in the AVI file.

Have I forgotten how to grab the audio or is it there somewhere?

    Any help appreciated.

    Cheers,

PS: The audio was recorded mono on Channel 2, just to be specific.

    Thanks.

To confirm in the Capture panel under the Logging tab do you have Audio and Video selected?

Yes, both audio and video are selected. And when I look at the AVI file in the timeline, the capture took mono channel 1 audio, but not channel 2 which is where the mono audio resides on the tape.

    Thanks,

    I have a PDX10…

I’m not sure what would happen if you tried to capture in a newer version of PPro, but the audio from a PDX10 was never captured properly in CS3 and CS4 for some reason that never, to my memory, was resolved.

I stopped using the PDX10 quite a while back, and I haven’t tried to capture anything from it since then…I typically had to capture from the PDX10 on Vegas to get both audio channels captured properly.
