    HI!

I know because of the HD qualitY Vegas captures in .m2t because of the GOP, but i need to capture som footage directly as AVI.

I dont want to waste time converting .m2t into avi so i want to see if vegas can capture footgae that was filmed in hd quality as AVI.

I would really appreciate an answer. Thanks!

The m2t file is what HDV cameras output. You should be able to set the camera to output DV but you’ll lose the hi def resolution. There’s a program from Cineform that will capture and convert to lossless Cineform avi on the fly.

This was originally made for slow computers that had a hard time with m2t files, but newer computers work fine with them now. Why do they have to be avi out of curiosity?
