Capturing 30p HDV with Decklink HD Extreme
I am capturing 30p HDV footage from a Canon XH-A1s and recently installed a Blackmagic Decklink HD Extreme to my Mac Pro. Now I have a number of new options to capture with. I will be converting it later to ProRes and mixing this with 7D proRes footage on a 1920×1080 30p ProRes sequence. Normally my Capture Preset was simply HDV. Should I be changing that setting to Blackmagic HDTV 1080p 59.94 (8 or 10 bit?) or something else?
Along with this, the Device Control Preset used to be Sony HDV Firewire. Should that setting also change accordingly or not?
The Video Playback is set to Blackmagic HD 1080p 59.94 (1920×1080).
I appreciate any help on this question.

Seems to me you should be capturing as Prores 1080p30.
Why would you capture as anything else and then transcode?

The 7D clips are being captured as ProRes 1080p 30. Does that also apply to the HDV footage from the
XH-A1s?
