  • Capturing 1080psf 24 fps HD cam to Apple Pro Res 422

I am working on a Documentary that was shot on Sony 900 HDcam camera at true 24fps 1920 x 1080. I have captured the footage going SDI out of the Sony Deck and into Kona LHe card 1080psf 24fps Apple Pro Res 422

If I open the raw captured file in QuickTime and play thru my computer it plays in sync. When I go to playback in FCP 6 the audio lags a different amount for each tape.

Any suggestions as to why I am having sync lag when I paly back in fcp. Kona card is SDI into HD monitor and XLR audio out to mixer. Then out of the mixer to powered speakers. Capture, Sequence and Video out are all 1080psf 24 fps 1920 x 1080.

Mac Pro Tower Dual 4 core with 5GB of ram recording onto 3TB sata array.

    Thanks
    Tom

How much of a delay is there? The audio output through the mixer to your speakers might produce a slight delay compared to the SDI out to monitor, but it should be pretty minor. If you redirect the audio out of your computer speakers is there a delay?

How are you monitoring 24.0 and are you sure you are at 24.0?
