My cameraman lent his PDW-530 xd cam and forgot to check the settings. Clips captured at 6.7 mbs, compared to 3.6 mbs with dv/dvcpro setting. Frame size is 720 x 486.
The clips play in FCP Studio. To make a regular SD DVD do I just send to compressor from the sequence or do I first make a QT movie with proper setting DV-NTSC anamorphic and then use that in the compressor?
    2. How do I maintain maximum picture quality? I am concerned making a new QT with new seq. settings.
    3. Would using mpeg imx settings affect the audio quality of the cam mic? The recorded levels are below -12 db and not peaking into distortion area, but the cam mic audio track is distorted when band is playing. The track with a direct feed from the band mixer is clear.

    Thanks so much

    Hi Wayne,
IMX is much better codec than DV, so send to Compressor from the time-line or export a self-contained IMX movie and import to Compressor.
Don’t worry about the size (486/480). Compressor automatically manage that cropping.
