Captured 32kHz, 12 bit audio at 48kHz, 16 bit…whoops…should I worry
Hi all
I’ve captured a bunch of clips (45 min or so each) from DVCam, and kind of ignored the warning that has popped up after completion (about the sample rates being different). Now after investigating, I’ve found the tapes have 4 channel audio, meaning it’ll be at 32kHz, 12 bit, although I captured at the default (48kHz, 16bit).
I’ve checked these forums and found a way to properly capture from here on, but should I go back and re-capture the 5 or 6 tapes I’ve done until now? I don’t notice a huge audio/video loss of sync or drift, although a slight one is observable. These clips will be used exclusively online, so I’m wondering whether not re-doing them will result in any issues down the line?
Shall I just leave them, or bite the bullet and re-capture 5 hours or so of footage at the right rate….?
