  • Capture with no Timecode?

This is going to sound like a very stupid question, but Im kind of in a bind and need to know by tomorrow afternoon. I just filmed a wedding on an HVX-200 on tape in SD 24P. Unfortunately I do not have the camera anymore, and have no access to it any more. I do have access to a Canon GL-1, a much older camera, but the video plays fine in the VTR mode. The problem is, that I am trying to capture from the GL-1 onto Final Cut, but no time code is showing on the GL-1 display, thus making it useless to use as a capture device for Final Cut Pro.

    The simple question is,
Can you capture video on FCP with no time code?

There has to be a way to have FCP ignore the TC or something? Please, this is an emergency and I need to figure this out.

in the Log & Capture window,
    capture settings panel,

set device control to “non Controlable Device”

now you wont need TC to capture.
