I have a VHS tape player plugged into my video camera and that plugged into my computer with firewire. When I try to capture the VHS video it always opens a new instance of Sony Vegas and doesn’t open the capture video screen. I’ve never seen this before! It always opened the capture video screen before even if no camera was connected, why is it opening Vegas again??? Please help!!!

    Intel 2.67GHz Core2 Quad CPU.
    8 GB RAM
    NVIDIA GForce GTX 570 superclocked
    Windows 7 64bit

[Jim Prisby] ” When I try to capture the VHS video it always opens a new instance of Sony Vegas and doesn’t open the capture video screen.”

That sounds odd. Look in Options | Preference | Video and make sure Use external video capture application and make sure that it points to the VidCap60.exe program.

Thanks, John, I should have thought of that. It was set to vegas120.exe. I’ve never had that change in all my years using Vegas. Don’t know how or why it got changed.
