Capture Tape time code and other information
Posted by Alan Kushnir on April 4, 2006 at 4:11 amI am capturing from MiniDV using Sony Vidcap6. Each clip has its own time code. How can I capture the time code from the tape, and also the time and date information; that is not appearing in the data fields. Thanks for any help on this issue.

April 5, 2006 at 5:49 pmI got the first part of your response and that is going to help. Thanks. I can see the tape time code on the thumbnails.
Can you elaborate on ‘media pool’ ? I see ‘Media manager’ but not ‘media pool’.
Assuming you were referring to ‘Media Manager’ and I look at the details or grid view, there is a column for “Original Date”. Is this what you were referring to? For all my clips, its blank, and that’s what prompted my initial question. What do I have to do to see the ‘Original Date’ in the Media Manager database? Once again my assumption is that what is supposed to go in this column is the date the clip was shot and not the date it was captured. Is that correct?
thanks for all your information.

April 5, 2006 at 6:44 pmI hope its ok to reply to my own question, cause I looked around further.
The ‘Project Media’ tab (media pool) has a column ‘Date/Time Stamp’ that DOES contain the Date and Time the video was shot. So now that I see that, why isn’t this just transferred to the Media Manager Data field?
(Just trying to understand some new things about Vegas6)
