    Hi all…

I have had a problem with FCP since version 5. I just upgraded to version 6 and hoped it would go way but it’s still there. When I capture footage (analog or DV) the capture process goes bad. It happens about 50% of the time and is more common on longer clips. The capture window looks fine, but when I play the video back on the timeline or as an independent .mov file, the video and audio are messed up.

The footage starts acting like it’s in fast-motion, and there’s a “clicking” sound to the audio. It doesn’t always happen, but it happens enough to be a pain. If I restart FCP it often stops happening. It’s definitely associated with the record phase – the clips are being recorded that way – even though the capture process appears to be normal.

    Any ideas?
