Capture settings question/problem
Greetings and Salutations,
I’m new to both CreativeCows and DV so please bear with me. I’m trying to capture home video in PPro7 to then burn to DVD. P4 2.2ghz, 1.25Gb, separate 160GB drive for video, ATI 9600pro. 1st question- I’ll need to be able to burn DVDs playable on NTSC dvd player/TV as well as PAL (for mother-in-law in europe). Do I need to capture it 2x? once PAL once NTSC? What is simplest method also? 2nd question- In my attempts to capture(so far just NTSC) I always seem to get a horrizontal type ‘blurring’ effect when there is horizontal motion in the shot. Will this appear when viewed on TV from a DVD?(i have no stand-alone player to test)? if i need to alter the capute setting to prevent this, what are the correct capture settings then? (bit rate, fps, field orders, progressive scan? etc…)
I do realize that this is probably really simple for the experts, but its been driving me nuts for a little while now. I have very little free time to play with this and i must say that PC’s are not my strength. all the tips tutorials and answers i have found online have just confused me more…(go ahead, have alittle chuckle… i did)
I’d like simply be able to capture, do some lite editing (figured that out) and burn to DVD(both NTSC/PAL).
Thank you all for your patience and help!!Spase
ps- if someone knows of a thread/post/webpage/chicken scratch on the wall/etc.. that has these questions answered i’d be happy to check that out too!!!
