For some reason I can’t find the box to check to create a new clip on camera start/stop — I used to have it, but maybe that back when I was using FCP6? I now am using FCP7, and for the life of me, I can’t find the on/off switch for this. I think it used to be under log and capture > clip settings, but it ain’t there now . . . ?

    Thanks,

    Tom McAfee

I’m not wanting a new clip for a time code break, but for camera start/stop — but/and hat box is checked anyway.

I think the problem may be that the option is available only when capturing HDV, and my current project is SD — do you know if this might in fact be the issue?

You can also try Mark–>DV Start/Stop Detect. This should create a bunch of markers on your master clip. Highlight those markers, and create sub-clip.
