  capture problems w/XL1a but not w/same tape w/ XL1s

  When I shoot on XL1a, and try and capture to FCP 5.1 w/ same camera there are problems, but it always works if I use a XL1s. It also doesn’t work w/ a sony handycam DCR-HC38, someone said it could it be the drivers? How do I fix drivers and is this in the G5? Does that mean the Firewire ports need replacing.
