    hi,

i work with final cut pro 5.1.
i want to use the advc 110 just for monitoring. when the advc 110 is connected and i want to capture i get no video signal, i can control the deck, i even get audio, but there is no video. i can see the video in the monitor (which is connected through the canopus 110) but not in fcp.
i cant capture because fcp says that there is no video signal.
but when i disconnect the canopus everything works fine (despite that i have no preview).

setup: the camera is connected directly to the mac pro firewire port, so is the canopus advc 110.

when i try to connect the camera to the canopus 110, fcp doesnt even start or is able to start the capture mode (its crashing while initialising).

    can anybody help?
sorry for the bad explanation, but its kinda complicated.

    regards

Don’t commplicate yourself. Why don’t you connect your video outputs from your camera directly to your monitor instead of the AVC110.

yes i could do that. but there must be a possibility that the canopus works.

Final Cut gets confused when two firewire display/capture devices are plugged in. If capturing from camera, connect it to monitor playback, disconnect ADVC. When finished then reconnect ADVC 110
