I’m trying to import video with a Cannon ZR 800 camcorder and the image keeps freezing for 1 or 2 seconds. The sound is fine. Any idea what might be causing this?

Thanks! Someday I’ll repay the favor when I am wise.

Try setting the device control to FireWire Basic, and also be sure your scratch disk isn’t your startup disk.

Might post more about your setup… what is your scratch disk, OS, Version of QT, and FCP?

Sometimes FW drives will not work well with DV cameras if they are connected to the same bus on your computer. An inexpensive solution is to create a new bus with a pci card, or a express card…
