I am trying to capture from a Panasonic aj-sd93 deck with vegas 6 through the ieee1394 conection. I am told that the deck should be plug & play and the computer does detect it but when I get to the capture interface it says the device is busy or being used by another program. Any thoughts on a possible fix. Is DVCpro50 an unsupported format or codec??

You will need a codec for DVPRO50—–Matrox makes one. Go here, fill out the registration form and download the codec. https://www.matrox.com/video/support/ds/software/codec/home.cfm

you can also download the mainconcept DVCpro50 codec to try out

    https://www.mainconcept.com/codecs.shtml#dvcpro

i’m not so sure that will solve the deck capture .. i haven’t tried any of the DVCpro decks in years but back then their deck 1394 cards were not OHCI spec’s. also back then DVCpro25 was not OHCI ( header wrapper was different).. panasonic DV product did meet OHCI spec’s …
