i am working on a project that the original footage was on vhs-c tape. i dubbed it over to mini dv through my canon xl2. the original footage had glitches on it, so when i dubbed the footage over i dubbed the glitches as well. now when i try to capture it into my avid, everytime it see one of the glitches it stops the capture. How do i get round that?

    couple of suggestions.
    depending on your system type

load without code and without machine control – ie wild
switch to conumer in the input tool settings

    last resort…

I had similar problem a while back, your source is the real prblem, you probably need to redupe your footage, I ended up going s video to dvd and loading from there. dvd is symphathetic to unstable sources, and plays back solidly as a source, or you could rip back from dvd.

One other thing – in your digitize settings, try selecting ‘ignore timecode breaks’ (or something like that). That helps as well.
