Capture Preset and Sequence Preset in FCP for Sony NEX-VG10 footage

Just use the 1080i50 ProRes setup – if you use a video card, there will also be a specific one for that. Otherwise it will be in the sequence settings labelled as something like “ProRes 422[HQ/LT/blank] 1920 x 1080 50i 48 Khz” – obviously use whichever flavour of ProRes you are importing.

If you’re still unclear, drop some of the transferred footage to a BLANK timeline, and click ‘yes’ on the ‘match timeline to footage’ dialogue box. Then copy down the sequence settings and make a new preset and easy setup for future use.

If there is L&T, there is no capturing going on.
No need of any capture preset.
L&T and conform your sequence to the footage.
