Missing a lot in the post also, what camera connection? what computer? OS All of that.

you traditionally do not capture from an HVX – you download the data from the cards to the computer directly

    Gary,

I can capture HVX 1080i directly over Firewire to my MacBook Pro with a 1.0 TB SATA Raid attached.

Since the 8GB cards leave a lot to be desired for a long form capture, this is my currenmt solution.

if your importing p2 cards, simply copy the data into a folder on your machine. then install the p2card plugin if you havent, disconnect the camera, and use the new folder with the p2 card data as your source to input the footage.

i like this method, because no matter what, you end up with a nackup of the data (until you erase the card.
