Capture HD playback from FCP on another FCP
Hey there,
I’m trying to investigate to possibility of capturing HD-SDI playback stream from one FCP system to another.
Our reason for doing this is to embed the baseband SDI signal with Nielsen KeepingTrac HD during the playout.
Our two systems will be Mac Pro 8core’s Running FCP 2 and both will have Kona LHe cards.
Any suggestions on capture settings would be helpful. Do they both need to be identical, or can you technically capture in a different format upon ingest?

whatever you output from one kona needs to match capture settings on the other kona.
I usually just use ProRes to capture on the other system.
you will need to disable machine control change it to “non-controllable” on the capture
system. and manually stop the capture when its done.thats about it.
