capture footage
Posted by Travisl on September 18, 2007 at 6:19 pmi’m trying to capture tapes that were shot in non HD (sony cam) but when i’m in FCP i chaned the setting to capture regular SD, it wont. the tape pauses after 5 seconds. Am i doing something wrong here???

your sure you shot SD (DV)?
try DEVICE CONTROL: FireWire NTSC (***not basic)
CAPTURE/INPUT: DV NTSC 48 KHzColin McQuillan

September 18, 2007 at 11:36 pmi even changed the settings in the canon xh-a1 to non HD…..i went through FCP changed the settings??? i’m lost, but ill keep trying. i think it might be the tapes. i put back in a tape that i shot in HD 24p and reset the FCP capture setting for HD and it’s fine

did you do this before shooting or after, I do not believe that the cannon will down-convert in camera

You are going to have to find out how it was shot to be able to capture it correctly.
