Capture error message on Avid Xpress Pro HD

What are your system specs? What is the camera you are using? How are you bringing the signal into the Avid (FW or analog)?

I’m using SONY PD150 through Firewire.

My specs are : Intel P 3.4 prossessor, 1024 DDR RAM, and 400GB of hd.

The device is being picked up and can control it remotely but every time I click the channels and press record. the message comes on.

Make sure your camera is on before you start your Avid software. You are a little light in the RAM department, but I don’t think that’s the issue.

My camera is on before starting Avid but still get the same message. At some instances i get a Fatal error message when I try to drag and drop imported footage on to the time line which I would have captured using a different package.

Have you gotten this error from the beginning? Have you tried check decks in the digitize tool? Have you tried trashing your MCState files? (in C:/Program Files/Avid/Avid XPress Pro/Settings) Tried a new user setting? Have you tried different deck settings (like generic)?

Thats all I can think of right now…

Yes I’ve had this error from the beginning. Infact, I’ve haven’t done anything with it as yet. I tried trashing the MCState files, new user setting, different deck settings.

As if that’s enough. Having done all that, I tried to play imported footage and, a new error appeared:- (An ACCESS_VIOLATION exception occurred: see FatalErrorReports.)and as well as :-(Exception:DesktopSFConsumer::PlaySampleFrame unable to initialize spring buffer)

Am I going to use this program at some point.

Are you sure your footage was recorded in SP, and not LP?…. I’m running out of ideas here (unless you caught the line from a previous post regarding problems Avid has found with the PD-150…)

Thanks so much for your trying Jon. What I have done is wipe off evrything on my PC and start afresh with the installation of Win XP then the different applications. Since then, haven’t had any problems. I gather it was an internal error with my system.
