    Hi, scratching head about this.

    Exporting a timeline and separate .srt and .itt caption files for each chapter.

    When I get the mastered ProRes file into compressor, and add the corresponding .srt or .itt file to it, and then spin out either a HEVC or H264 file, the captions are not embedded or available as switchable subtitles. Am I doing something really stupid here? They don’t appear in either Quicktime player or VLC….?

    SRT and ITT aren’t closed caption formats.
    You either have to convert them into CEA-608 inside FCP or using a third party app (depends on the language used) or use an app like Subler to embed when usage is NOT broadcast (converts to 3GP)
