Captioning
I am getting an error message regarding captioning when I am trying to make a DVD using DVD Architect 3. The warning mentions 3 places where the subtitle event is “too complex.” It also states that subtitles “do not meet requirements of the DVD specification.” It doesn’t seem to be saying all the subtitles are a problem because the first error message is about subtitles starting at 1:14 and the other two start somewhere in the 2:20 area. I looked at the subtitles at these time marks, and they do not appear any different than others. Any ideas about what I’m doing wrong?

Are they possibly too long?

That’s what I thought at first, but I took out a few words and the error message still comes up. Maybe I’ll try to take out quite a bit of the text just to see if that gets rid of the error message.

Thanks, Ed. They were too long in a couple of spots. My main problem was I was reading 1:14 as 1 minute 14 seconds rather than 1 second and 14 hundredths of a second. That meant I was pulling my hair out making changes and still getting the same error message before I realized I was making the changes in the wrong place. Sometimes, it’s the little things.

It was probably actually 1 minute 14 FRAMES (as in just under 1 minute 1/2 second)
