Whenever I stop playback in the timeline- the canvas turns white instead of just stopping on that frame so that I can view the image. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this? Thanks

Make sure you have chosen “Image and Wireframe” (or just “Image”) and NOT “Alpha” in the settings in the upper right of the Canvas Area.

If you had typed: canvas white
into the Search Posts – Terms you would have gotten an instant response.

Ya, but we would have missed this magical moment together if she had.

    I love this question.
It was my very first inquiry at apple.com’s FCP forum, back in the FCP3 days, about 8,000 posts ago. Tom Wolsky handled it for me.
Also interesting that this silly interface issue is still a silly interface issue. Any other application that restricts the pixels you’re viewing has some kind of indication to that effect.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

I remember when all my FCP problems were this simple… (sigh)

Still took me 5 hours to figure it out when it happened to me.

Still got my copy of FCP 1….

At least somebody didn’t tell him to trash his prefs… However, that would’ve worked since it would’ve reset the default to RGB.
