canvas window is white
Posted by Jaclynvt on January 23, 2006 at 6:09 pmWhenever I stop playback in the timeline- the canvas turns white instead of just stopping on that frame so that I can view the image. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this? Thanks

January 23, 2006 at 6:22 pmMake sure you have chosen “Image and Wireframe” (or just “Image”) and NOT “Alpha” in the settings in the upper right of the Canvas Area.

January 23, 2006 at 9:11 pmI love this question.
It was my very first inquiry at apple.com’s FCP forum, back in the FCP3 days, about 8,000 posts ago. Tom Wolsky handled it for me.
Also interesting that this silly interface issue is still a silly interface issue. Any other application that restricts the pixels you’re viewing has some kind of indication to that effect.bogiesan
This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

January 23, 2006 at 11:46 pmI remember when all my FCP problems were this simple… (sigh)
Still took me 5 hours to figure it out when it happened to me.
Still got my copy of FCP 1….

January 24, 2006 at 6:14 amAt least somebody didn’t tell him to trash his prefs… However, that would’ve worked since it would’ve reset the default to RGB.
