Cant work out how to convert iMovie DV into ProRes
Hi,
I have a load of DV footage captured with iMovie. It does not play properly so I was advised to convert to proses. I selected the clips and went into Media Manager and selected Prores 422 (LT) PAL 48Mhz. It seemed to simply copy not reincode the footage. I have selected recompress in the drop down.
Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Do it in Compressor, QTPro or MPEG Streamclip.

Thanks. I have just looked at compressor. There are hundreds of clips in lots of different directories. Is there an easy way of just saying convert everything in this directory structure to prores.
Also some of the clips have been logged and subcliped. I believe media manager would keep this. Can it be kept with compressor?

Compressor does do a batch.
Personally if you have that much footage and want an easy workflow, recapture your footage into FCP using DV-PAL.
2nd option create a DV-PAL sequence and add your .dv footage and render.

I think recapturing is the best option. The downside is that we would have to relog and the heads on the camera used to recird may of been misaligned, we have had this problem with cameras lugged around Uganda.
What I cant work out is why Media Manager wont reincode into prores. I saw a apple tutorial on the net doing just this.
