Can’t update FCP 7 to 7.03 in ML
Hi All,
I’m working on a brand new ML Mac Pro. I installed FCP 7, but am unable to update it, as those updates don’t come through the App Store. I DLed and installed the pro apps update (here)but all apps are still reading as their original installed versions.I DO have FCP X, Compressor 4, and Motion installed, and so have all of the FCS3 stuff in its own folders. Could that be the problem?

You don’t go through the app store. FCP 7 was never sold through the App store. You use SOFTWARE UPDATE to get the update for FCP 7

First, when you install from the original disc you shouldn’t move any of the folders from their default locations.
Second, you should update by clicking on the Apple at he upper screen left and using Apple Software Update, as there are numerous componenet updates that may have to happen before FCS updates, and it’s virtually impossible to do the updates manually.

First you need to update them , before you put them in a seperate folder.
Install FCS3 , then go to appstore/software update ( ITS THE SAME on 10.8 )
Then create a folder to put them in , so you can install FCPX.
