  Can’t stretch window in second monitor

  I’m on a MacBook Pro about a year old, using OS X Snow Leopard with Photoshop CS4 and SOMETIMES when I’m using my second (much larger) monitor I can’t stretch the window to the size I want and other times I can make it as large as I want. I can’t figure what the common denominator is when I can’t stretch to the size I want.

  I’ve tried clicking the green “+” sign and then stretching but it makes no difference.

  Any ideas?
