I have a Sony XDCam HD for a project and have shot a one minute test clip that I can play back fine in the monitor. When I connect the camera to my computer, it finds it, but it only shows me either a window with the live firewire image or, when I playback, the clip that I just shot. I’m trying to import it or capture it into premiere pro cs4. I can control it with the capture panel, but I can’t see it, nor am I able to hit the capture button. I also can’t see the camera in the media browser panel. From what I’ve read, there should be a folder called CLIPS that all the footage is in. How can I import or capture my footage? Thanks.

    Tim,

The capture window is only for tape based cameras. Your best option is to download the Sony Clip browser.

You should also be able to drag the folder out in Windows but the clip browser also verifies file structure among other things in case things get corrupted. Definitely something you want if you are deleting while on location.
