can’t see clips unless rendered
My clients are digitizing some material that I will eventually edit. They have digitized a couple of test clips and have found that they cannot play them in the viewer or a sequence unless they are rendered.
Here are the facts: They are using FCP 4.5 on a Quicksilver G4 1Ghz dual with 1 Gb RAM, running OS 10.3.9. The clips were digitized over Firewire at DV50. Some are DV50 anamorphic. They play in Quicktime from the Finder just fine. When loaded in the viewer, you can hear the audio, but not see the video until you’re paused on a frame. The viewer window is set to “fit to window,” and set to view RGB. If the viewer window is set to 100% or above, the video plays, but jerkily.
Anyone have any clues about this? What would cause a clip not to play in the Viewer? Thanks for any help.cc
Peace,
Liane
