    Hello,

I have a credit roll I did in AE saved with the animation codec. I put it on a DVD to sneaker net it to my FCP 6.0.3 system and copied it to the media drive. I imported it into FCP, but when I try to render it, I get a ‘file error: access denied’ message. It plays in quicktime fine. It plays in FCP, just won’t render. The file has read and write privileges. I exported the file from quicktime pro with several different codecs, but FCP won’t import them. I get a ‘file error: 1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown’ message. Not sure what to do now… Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    TVD

    Hi Tom,
    Strange behave.
    Open your file in QT.
    Comm-J to open properties.
    Click Video Track.
    Click the little window “Extract”.
Save the new file with a different name and try how it works in FC.

Hey, thanks for responding. I figured out that someone had crashed the system without telling me and reset the scratch disks. I was trying to render to a disk that was full. Stupid little things that drive you mad……
