  • Can’t render!!! HELP!

Posted by Kenny Powerass on October 25, 2005 at 4:25 pm

    I’m mid-session with a client and I’m finding that I cannot render.
FCP has not even made a folder in my render file for render files to be placed in. I tried making my own, but that doesn’t help.
I had a couple crashes yesterday so I trashed prefs and repaired permissions. Could that have fouled it up?
I don’t know how to remedy this and don’t have much time for troubleshooting.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks!
    Kenny

Keep hitting “Apple R” til it will render. It’s worked for me.

Are all the bars checked in your Sequence>Render menus?

Yes, everything’s checked and it won’t render ALL or SELECTION.

Try going into FCP HD menu>User Preferences>Render Control

and make sure that all boxes under Render & Playback are checked (Filters, Frame Blending for Speed, Motion Blur.

I tried that already. They were all checked.

I just trashed prefs and it started to render, then crashed.
Now I’m going through it and rendering bit by bit to weed out the part that’s crashing it.

Might be a corrupt sequence, then. Copy paste the clips into a new sequence and see what happens.
