    Hi there

Opened up my project this morning forgetting to fire up my hard drive first.
Now everything is exclamation marks and missing file/ missing proxy red screens.

Tried relinking to all the files in the event – it scans them but doesn’t relink

My original R3D media is stored outside of the bundle on the same drive
My proxies are inside the bundle.

Am i doing the right thing by clicking the event with all my media in it and then File>Relink
It’s not being friendly to me – what am i doing wrong!?

Just to add some more info:

The missing files eg: A001_C003_1209QV_001.r3d have lower case .r3d on the end not the upper case .R3D on the camera originals.

The example it gives me when trying to link to a first file seems to be INSIDE the bundle eg:
    DRIVE/Final Cut Projects/ Priject.fcpbundle/Event/Original Media/A001_C002_1209Y8/A001_C002_1209Y8_001.r3d

But my original media is outside the bundle and has upper case .R3D extentions

When i select my folder with the original media it says “Select another folder of file none of the xxx files are found in this folder”

Both original media (outside bundle) and proxies (inside bundle) are offline.

I just tried restoring from last night’s backup and no dice.

If anyone has any tips i’m at my breaking point – please help!

Did you try just quitting FCP and relaunching now that the drives are online?

Yes i did but that didn’t help.

In the end i figured it out (just now!) -in case it helps anyone else – re importing all my clips caused FCPX to see all my original files again – phew!!

    Hi

I had exactly the same issue. Relinking did absolutely diddely squat. Then I tried re importing the original media files and that relinked all… Not Sure what the new relinking issue is ?!!?

In FCPX 10.2.2 I was able to relink in the Viewer, I had proxy checked instead of original media. To my great relief all files came back online.
