  Can’t record analog audio in XLR inputs using FCP 5

  I am having trouble recording some audio in the analog XLR inputs. If I select video digitizer to none I see audio input getting signal, but I can’t capture, FCP won’t let me. If I set the video digitizer to Blackmagic NTSC/Pal I can capture but I get no audio going to the analog XLR inputs. Can someone help me I know I am doing something wrong.
