    Hello,

So, I am working on a project in Final Cut 7 in which I was using footage that had temp sound. I edited. Now, I’d like to reconnect my clips with updated versions of the media, which now has the good sound synced and attached to them (I doubled checked and they do indeed have the new audio attached).

When I go and throw the media off-line in Final Cut and then reconnect, everything works smoothly excepts the two new tracks of audio don’t appear (just the two original tracks I will not be using).

Is there a way to force those two new tracks into my project?

    Thanks

    FCP remembers the clip attributes.
So if you had 2 channels on your originals, and now have 4,
FCP just uses the first 2

If you do a fresh import in a new project, you’ll see all the tracks.
But then you have to re-edit the stuff…

    Two options:
Use QT change to delete the first 2 tracks.
(Keep in mind it works in QT TRACKS, where a track can be mono or stereo, so perhaps you have 4 channels of audio in 3 sound tracks,
if the first track is stereo!)
    Donwload from here:

You can also change the channel order, but for that you need to applescript or have me write an application.

In all cases, run a lot of tests on copies you are willing to loose!

    hth,
