I don’t know exactly what the problem is, but I have a buddy shooting some stuff for me onto an SD card. But when he tries to upload his footage to either Dropbox or Google Drive, all I get from him are the mts files. I can’t seem to get his full AVCHD package. He has Windows, so I don’t know if thatis part of the problem. He uploads his file called “Private” and I see it in my Google Drive and a folder called “Private”, but when I try to download the file called “Private”, all I get are mts files, which of course, are no good to edit with in FCPX. Any idea what I’m doing wrong or he’s doing wrong or what we should do instead?

Maybe have your buddy zip the file prior to uploading?

Are you sure that the video files aren’t actually just .mts?

He has done that. It didn’t help.

Sounds like the camera is maybe a Sony? If that’s the case then MTS is what the files are. Use an app like EditReady to rewrap them.
