  • Can’t print markers placed in multiclips

I’m really surprised by the inability to do what I thought would be an inherent addition in Final Cut or a supporting application.

I’ve placed well over a thousand markers onto various multiclips for a reality project involving 3 cameras. All multiclips remain sorted in the browser. I intended to compile a comprehensive list of all the markers in the project with their names and comments, print it out and use it while I was editing as a sort of cliffnoted booklet while cutting. I had thought Final Print or xml2text would easily do this for me but those programs seem to only support markers in stand alone clips or sequence markers, not multiclip markers. I’ve tried exporting a batch list from Final Cut but that doesn’t include the necessary marker info or exporting a marker list from individual clips but that only works one clip at a time and makes separate files. I have thousands of clips and doing it one-by-one would take me forever.

Is there a way to export any and all you marker info from the browser for all your clips whether they are multiclip or not into one document?

Any help would be so greatly appreciated as the task ahead of me seems rather daunting.

    Desperately,

    Mike

Don’t know if this helps and there’s no doubt a better way but if the markers are listed on the source clip in the browser, open the list (click the triangle to the left of the clip)and just take a photo of the screen (I use Grab, it should be in your apps). You can then either just print that out or do what I do which is paste it into a word doc, crop and print. If the markers are in you your sequence right click the ruler which will reveal at least the marker names, I then take a Grab shot of that. Good luck
