Can’t output to tape due to render file problems
I need someone’s help. I’ve looked everywhere and haven’t found a solution, or even a reason for this.
I’ve been using an IMAC with FINAL CUT PRO for the last 4 months, and my job requires me to output to a beta machine through an analog to digital converter. It’s worked fine up until today. For some reason on my timelines in every one of my projects, there are light blue, and light green areas for render, and it will not render the timeline like it used to.
I haven’t deleted any files from the FINAL CUT DOCUMENTS folder since I’ve started doing this, why aren’t my projects rendering properly? The audio always cuts out in these areas when I try to dump them to tape.
Someone please help me figure this out, my job depends on it.

I would delete your audio and video render files and rerender. On your scratch disk:
Final Cut Pro Documents > Audio Render Files > ‘Project Name Folder’
Final CUt Pro Documents > Render Files > ‘Project Name Folder’
Delete the files out of the folder that corresponds to your project.
GO back to FCP and rerender.
That should help you.

I tried it, everything renders fine. But now there are no render files in either “Audio render files” or “Render files” after I render my project. And when I try to output to my beta machine, I see video, but have no audio again.
Could I maybe have something set wrong in my Final Cut Settings?

Thank you so much, that fixed it. I figured out that my scratch disk wasn’t set to the proper folder, figured it out eventually, but deleting and starting over helped immensely. Thanks again.
