Can’t Open PP Project
Hi, I began a PP CS6 Project myself, then hired a pro filmmaker to do the finishing work. At first, we worked on my MacPro, after which I gave him all my project files and capture scratch and he went to his studio to work. Final product was good, but I wanted to tweak it a bit. So he gave me a portable HD with all the capture scratch and project files on it. I then transferred all his work back to my MacPro. But now, my filmmaker friend’s PP Project file won’t open on my computer. I’ve tried opening a new PP and then importing his Project File, but it still won’t open. Any other suggestions?

Can you open the project from the portable hard drive? Try to narrow down whether the issue is with the file itself or the transfer to your Mac.

Ivan, Good question. I can’t remember. I think that I tried that, but can’t be sure. I’ll ask my film editor/partner to bring the HD here again to test your idea. Thanks. Meantime, do you, or does anyone else have an idea of what to do if I can’t open the PP project file from the HD?

Try to open it from the hard drive on a different computer. If the file can’t be opened on two or three computers, then burn a new copy on another drive. Was the person who helped you working on a PC or Mac? What release did they use?

Thanks Ivan, My filmmaker friend is also on a Mac, and also using Premier Pro CS6, latest version. We’re going to experiment with your suggestions in the next couple of days. Thanks!
